I will prove to you in this post you that free will does not exist.
People only act upon incentives. You can make anyone do anything if you give them the correct stimuli. Anyone here can be incentivized to kill their mother if they are exposed to the appropriate stimuli. There is no human action without a motivating factor. This stimulus can be internal or external, conscious or unconscious, deliberate or unintentional, but it has to exist in order to trigger a human action.
When you make a choice to do something, you are instead picking which of the stimuli around you to allow to hold your will hostage. No, "choosing" the stimulus isn't the same as free will. If you have 2 persons in front of you saying "you are free to do whatever I allow you to" and you make a choice as to whose orders to obey, it is not really free will. If every action you make is conditioned to a stimulus and it can only exist if there is an stimulus, then it is not free but subordinate to whatever stimulus allowed your will to come into being. No human action is without a cause. Internal or external, conscious or unconscious, deliberate or unintentional.
I'm not talking about fate and that all our actions are predetermined as if our lives were a movie plot, because that is stoopid and pushed by people wanting to be unnacountable for their actions. I'm saying, instead, that there is an innominable amount of variables around you right this second interacting with each other and eventually a part of these variables will include you in their interaction forcing you react. Stuff happens on your nose and it itches, you scratch it using your hand. You choose to obey that stimulus.
"But what if I choose not to react?" Not reacting is also a reaction. Something incentivized you not to react. You chose which stimulus to allow to hold your will hostage.
The clock hands always have to be pointing in a direction. It can't not have hands.
