If gender is not based on sex, then 'trans' would not need to try and change their sex.
The very fact that they do means they acknowledge gender and sex are synonyms. Thus one can either believe that sex and gender are the same, and thus justify altering their body to 'fit' their gender, or they can believe that gender is not the same as sex, and that there can be any number of genders, in which case altering ones body to 'fit' gender is nonsensical.
This simple logical contradiction exposes the egregious idealism at play.
