Prions are biological living organisms that are hard to kill but can be killed. The structure does look similar to a large prion--perhaps the prion structure was hijacked? I don't know--they're fibrin something--and until someone with the right creds agrees to properly analyze them--we won't know for certain.
What if something like picrel "took over" a prion structure and hijacked it? Ugh--speculation--"what if" is all we have until proper analysis is done.
