I started off by reading the Kybalion, realized it made sense of the world in a way that is intuitive to the average man and went from there. Floundered around trying to vacuum up any mystic wisdom I could (Rosicrucians are a good place to glean some info) but yeah, Manly P. Hall is probably the best place to start as he presents his info in a plain, "matter of fact" way, plus he's entertaining to listen to, dude had charisma for sure.
Just remember, you reap what you sow. The more you know, the greater the consequences.
