>>16672456ya. i think it goes back to the case by case thing, it can have a lot outcomes depending on whichever cards that the person got dealt
and also depends on how long somebody gets stuck in that cycle, if they ever grow out of it
if some kid feels a bit lonely and looking up to some streamer for a period of time helps him through his days, then its at least something i guess. possible that it'll have a bit of a negative effect, but like you told, theres no sure saying that things would definitely be better without it. just comes off as mean to me to think taking away that one thing they have from a person would be just, still
and despite how shitty of a platform twitch and its contemporaries are, there may be some heartfelt people in there still. at least someone in a bad place could possibly be helped by stumbling onto the right whoever, even if it takes a lot of chance
as long as they dont buy too far into the idea that the person really is their friend and move on eventually, i guess itd be alright for them and that complacency issue you talked about wont arise.
if you have any gaming youtubers or whatever that you really liked when younger and maybe even considered close to you in a way, i think the best case scenario is that they get left as a memory similar to that. you didnt spend your whole life having them as your whole world, you left it behind sooner or later
but, yeah, thats being optimistic. i doubt that a lot of the cases end up anything like that. plus thats only speaking for a younger side, if someone gets overly attached way later on then its just most probably going to end up really pathetic and make them ignore any actual improvement like you described
i mean ive seen it with my own eyes lol. let alone way larger streamers, even just ones with just barely above a 100 or so, they still have these insanely obsessed motherfuckers frothing at the mouth to do anything to make the streamer like them a teeny-weeny bit more
