If you go to the Philippines (and I recommend it as I make a 80K USD and I'm effectively a millionaire there), live it up. A 2 week stay at a 5 star hotel with room service and fancy amenities will run you like 550 bucks. Touristy areas (Davao is my favorite) are extremely clean and there's lots of fun things to do and interesting things to eat.
I highly recommend Pinay and Vietnamese girls. They are still tight knit, homogenous communities. Treat it like the USA in that you don't go to the ghettos or you WILL get robbed at machete point since they don't have guns, but it's the same as Detroit or Chicago- you get what you sign up for.
