The history of the Norwegian Civil War for example is quite more interesting, filled with court intrigues, revenge, countless claimants for the throne both legitimate and not, many battles to be fought etc. It was a period that spanned for more than a 100 years so it can make a great historical drama series. But due to the fact that the Norwegians have to be portrait as Catholic and not some bloodthirsty pagans (who were not), the film doesn't cut it.
