well to give perspective it's somewhat like levorphanol and dextramethorphan, they are mirror images of each other (with exception of methyl group on dxm) and if there was an industrial process of making them in a racemic mixture like with LSD it would be a bit harder to separate the two and the mixture would give you a totally different experience than taking either
you can only get clean cut og LSD from ergot but getting that shot would land you a life sentence in prison, and the racemic mixture you get through entirely synthethic pathways is incredibly tough to separate and will probably give you some hard time when tripping unlike with pure LSD which would offer minimal nausea and bad trips
I'll concede and admit there might be another lisyergic acid derivative in plants or mushroom that they now use for lsd synth, but I'm less inclined to think it's LSA from HBWR or morning glory as the govt would definitively get on that case and just burn every wild plant and fine everyone found with thise plants a lot of money (I'm exaggerating simce LSD so hard to make even from pre-existing bulk plant matter.... I just think most if not all go the synthethic pathway and then try to purify the productbthrough chromatography or other sep method)
