The only thing that would stop me eating pork is that I like pigs. The straight cuts of meat from the pig aren't particularly nice, often tough when cooked through and really only good with lots of effort. But cured pork I.e salami, sausages, bacon are decent even if bacon is highly overrated. All other decent bits of pork are slathered in BBQ sauce which is cheating imo.
If you look at the nature of pigs, wild and domestic you'll realise how intelligent the are. How clandestine in the forest the boar is. How nomadic in nature and family orientated yet fierce and deadly to even hunting dogs and larger predators take their time when hunting pigs. In a way pigs remind me of me and my culture in its early years. They are more special than all other farmed creatures and the reason desert religions don't like pigs is not the myth that they are dirty but the semblance they have to ancient Europeans living in peace. This is something they cannot handle, something they must attack and infiltrate, deem unclean and vile.
