>>8849165Yeah, for better of for worse this is definitely one of the most grounded films that Ghibli has done. Relying little on fantasy and really making the interaction of the characters the driver of the story. That combined with this being the director's directorial debut means that there definitely wasn't the most solid of foundations going into it. But I think they managed to keep it together in the end even if it didn't have a lot of that Ghibli charm.
