Contrary to what everyone seems to be saying ITT:
You don't actually have to put 100% into everything you do. No matter what your job is, whether you're a burger flipper at McDonald's or a burgermeister in Germany, you can always get by on simply coasting and cutting corners through every aspect of your day.
Life is a series of draft picks. Sometimes if you're lucky you can get that number one draft pick of all time: the franchise maker. The star. A unanimous hall of famer. But a lot of teams never or only very rarely get to see a player like that. Most of them are just looking to the lotto and hoping to get a high draft pick. Just hoping, nothing more nothing less, because in reality it's all they can do.
You'll realize soon enough that the only person you can trust at the end of the day is yourself. Nobody, and I mean nobody else. And when the sun rises on the next day you'll realize you can't trust yourself either. But that's the secret: the sun will always rise tomorrow. The world will keep spinning, people will get up, and life will move on. It doesn't matter how earth shattering and life changing you think your decisions or actions are right now in this moment, nobody will care in the end.
