There's a basic satire on a future dominated by corporations - at the start you sign a long contract that you can read and discover all the ways they can screw you over, you instantly get a million credit debt and become indentured labour dismantling spaceships. that's all fine and sets up the game, there's humour in it etc.
But then your colleagues arrive, constant radio communications from a black lesbian who is earnestly explaining what a union is. no humour. nothing fun. just basic, high school level explanations that unions will solve all everything. it's not satire but a morality tale and is especially grating. worst of all, none of it is skippable.
basically ruins what is otherwise a fun game.
