Some of the "proofs" of round Earth was entirely made up like water levels of the various oceans. Experiments on water movement to prove round Earth is real always fails. The sun at certain spots causes shadows that can only happen on a flat plain. Flat Earthers are wrong, of course, but they're on to something.
Round Earth itself was always considered to just be a nice idea people wanted to believe, then the Freemasons went and started pulling bullshit out of their asses to "prove" the Earth is a 3D sphere.
