Having studied property law, I can tell you that this is where we get modern concepts of property rights. Jesus was NOT a communist, since he and God are one, HE was the one giving land grants in the Bible.
Giving a command to give generously to people (which He does do) is NOT the same as forcibly taking one's property with the authority of the state and redistributing it to the populace.
