Ava sighed as she exited full screen mode on her laptop, blinking the tears welling up in her eyes away and taking her headphones off. She just finished episode 68 of the Japanese version of Sonic X, one of the most depressing episodes she had seen in the series so far; depressing mainly because Shadow was one of her favorite characters, and to watch him lose another person that he managed to grow close to die was just heartbreaking, especially after watching him create a makeshift grave for her. She could only imagine what Shadow was feeling deep down, watching once again as someone who was important to him die.
She sniffled and shut her laptop down, closing the lid and putting it into her carrier bag. “Poor Shadow...” she said, then inwardly laughed at herself. “There I go, emphasizing with fictional characters again.” She laid down on her bed and draped her blankets over her body. “At 2:00 in the morning. Again. Still... If Shadow was real, I would be more than willing to be his friend.” She smiled to herself and yawned from exhaustion. “Honestly, who wouldn't want to be his friend?” She settled into her bed, shifting around until she got more comfortable, and started to close her odds. But what are the odds of that actually happening? She thought before she started to drift off into slumber.
