This can come in many shapes and forms but what drives people especially men is a purpose in their life. The forms "purpose" used to manifest for men is by being a father with a family, a company man, some sort of role model in your community, an inventor, so on and so forth. Unlike men in the past there is now red tape around all of these things or women/government bureaucracy have infiltrated the used to be male only spaces perverting them and even making them outright hostile to men. Right now a lot of men have a general lack of purpose in their life so they kind of just drift along with nothing to strive for.
To be blunt it is not going to fix itself nor is it worth fixing and we are already at a critical mass of directionless young men that society has completely abandoned. Society as we have it now hates men (especially white men) and tells men to their faces that they are no longer needed in "modern" society. No society has ever survived where the builders/maintainers i.e. men but more realistically white men of society are ridiculed and hated.
