Honestly, it seems like something they would do, if you're know as "the twitter president" then why would you not also make use of /pol/ to get your message out. It has enough legs by now that it's plausible that state actors helped make it go viral.
On the other hand, if it's a roleplayer, that's cool too because there's still going to be someone peering back at it and interpreting it as a go ahead signal, i.e. if he does crazy stuff people will support him.
Still cringe tho.
