In Europe, you will find a few small fields, then some houses, maybe a little downtown area with a market place, etc. It's all integrated and self-contained. In America, it's some sort of cookie cutter residential area, huge shopping mall in some checkerboard city center ... no thanks. Europeans knew how to build cities.
However, American cities tend to be more functional, easier to navigate. By car at least. For walking, European cities are better - but I guess you guys don't like walking.
