Higher civilization and genius is only possible because of Neanderthal genes. My opinion is that Neanderthals were wiped out by Homo Sapiens emerging from Africa, as Neanderthals had a small population of 30-100k, being K-selected animals, while Homo Sapiens were R-selected and numbered in the millions.
