>>8628101this is why a lot of people seem to be discontent with /bant/:
1. Mid 2018 - Some bad posters arrive but can easily be ignored, they mostly stick to their own threads and people are smart enough not to bump them.
2. Many of the golden age /bant/ posters are getting older so they're either busy with university or jobs, or they simply became bored of /bant/ after posting on it for so long.
3. Late 2018 - There's an influx of bad posters and an exodus of good posters, many of the new posters don't have a sense of etiquette and are posting as they would on whatever board they came from. They also lack self-awareness and post in almost every thread even when they don't have something interesting to say. The cycle of more and more good posters leaving and the persistence of bad posters leads to a downward spiral.
4. Some people realize that other communities such as D*scord are more ideal than having to deal with /bant/, since they can talk to only the people that they like and avoid those who post in every thread that they can no longer ignore. Or they just get a life and real life friends. The few good posters left don't feel like /bant/ is worth being dedicated to anymore and post much less often than the bad posters. Even if /bant/ is in a better state now than it was a few months ago, all of their enthusiasm to put effort into the board was already drained and they aren't willing to take the risk.
5. Mods/TPTB are actively against community. Threads discussing the 4ch_an Cup are banned even on random boards, fishe and kot autosage, three thread limit isn't ideal for small boards, and they refuse to ban spammers.
6. Since /bant/ is no longer new, it lacks the fresh feeling that made it interesting and malleable. People used to say it was like old /b/ but I haven't heard that comparison in a long time. Most of the drawfags are gone. I don't recall any new /bant/ memes being created in the past year.
