>>10431985yeah this is one of the things i don't understand, how you knew to do all that stuff like join a corporation and become an effective cog in it. i tried it once many years ago and i felt like a babe in the woods. no direction, no nothing. i really don't even remember there being much of a tutorial. i think i went out to mine somewhere and got killed instantly. on second thought maybe i'm thinking of one of the x-series games, i'm not sure.
no, i meant it was difficult NOT to just give up and quit really early on. not that it was difficult to quit the game.
anyway, i certainly have a lot of respect and jealousy for people who managed to stick with eve and become part of the game world.
>>10431998there's that eve autism again. this game might be the best example of emergent gameplay (people figuring out ways to use the game that weren't intended by the devs) in history. like how do you know which new players frequently visit systems? is it a script someone wrote? is it part of the game?
i remember playing freelancer and using a function of the game map called "show frequent patrol routes" to discover hidden jump points to other systems.
nap time soon.
