You cannot build large brutalist structures without reinforced concrete as you need the tensile strength of rebar. This drastically reduces the lifespan of such structures to decades at best as water seeps into the concrete and oxidizes the rebar. The rebar then expands which cause the surrounding concrete to spall. Pic related.
