Growing up, I always heard about how most husbands are lazy deadbeats and their wives basically do everything around the house but bring in money. I was further convinced of this by studies about how married men tend to be happier/live longer, while the inverse was true for women.
Now that I've reached adulthood for a couple years and dated around, I either have to believe modern women are a completely different breed, or those old sayings and statistics were complete and utter bullshit. I've dated from nerdy college girls to Catholic midwits, and nearly all of them lacked any initiative to clean or cook consistently. My male colleagues seem to report similar things too. If I'm cleaning everything and paying for takeout/cooking myself, what the fuck is the point of a modern girlfriend? Sex is cool and all but I can get that from tinder within a week, for much less money.
Are modern women the issue, or have women mostly always been this way (post civil rights)?
