I tend to play on the safe side and keep eyes "low" because one of the most common mistakes I see with anthro heads is the eyes are too high up and there's no room for a brain. I think this happens because actual animals function like this due to smaller brains. Looks fine for drawings of straight animals, but when they're anthropomorphized with those proportions it looks super weird. Look up bad Kemono art where they just slap a tiny animal head on a giant female body, it's super unsettling and something I very much want to avoid
