>>11266056I hear you man. I work in a locksmith shop. It's me, the office lady, the boss as a locksmith and his wife as office backup (they only come a few times a month) and one other "locksmith".
This other locksmith is 22. Him and his gf have a 1 year old kid together and they live with his dad. This guy doesn't deserve the title of locksmith, he is fucking stupid, lazy, can't manage his time, can't learn, etc.. All the problems with someone you could imagine rolled in to one. Oh, and he drinks booze and smokes weed so there is that, too.
He shows up late every day, takes long lunches, and often leaves early. He had made it a habit to call out either on Fridays or Mondays. The dude has worked in my shop maybe 100 days now and has missed at least 15 days. I'm so fucking sick of his shit. It generally takes him several days to complete a job I can do in an hour.
The owner called him "a body". Just a body in the shop that can cut keys and do the easy jobs (mostly rekeying) that come in while we are out in the field doing the hard locksmithing work (closers, master key systems, access control, fresh installations, etc.).
We can't fire him though. The office lady doesn't know shit about doing locksmithing work, she mainly answers the phones and does scheduling. I can't stay in the shop because I have to do all the fieldwork. So we need him, it's very unfortunate. And not many people apply for the position when we put out ads, it's really shitty. Bossman said as soon as we get someone else, he is going to shit-can Mr. Body...I can't fucking wait.
It's kind of sad, the guy called our shop "the perfect job" but that is only be ause there is no direct supervisors and he certainly takes advantage of that. Oh well, hopefully he doesn't fuck up his next job!
