well i think that's more related to the declining population, especially in the countryside. the birthrate is very low, the average age is very high, and the population is extremely dense. people just keep dying of old age without having any babies and more than 50% of the population lives in 4-5 cities which only leads to those cities having more opportunities and causing more people to move to them. the houses depreciating in value certainly helps keep their cost low, but they're practically free in the countryside because there are a ton of abandoned houses out there and the government doesn't want to keep paying to maintain them
nah, need to dedicate a whole closet to something like that i think. a fold out couch bed is much more reasonable, but i don't necessarily need a couch
