It ALL boils down to them knowing about fishtank
they are all so guarded because they know firsthand that people will laugh at them if they do or say anything weird.
It makes EVERY single conversation inauthentic because they are playing to the camera.
S1 was interesting because they were uninitiated to the format so you were watching real interactions in this voyeuristic way. S2 was like watching a poorly run reality show.
Everyone being fishtank fans also meant they were the same type of person. early 20's very online boring people.
Jet and crew, if you try to fake it again in season 3 it will be extremely apparent and the show will suck again.
we NEED random weirdos for the show to actually work.
