>>17208726I like it, but wouldn't be able to find any moment where I would wanna listen to it.
Simply that there aren't many occasions where I'm in the mood for American feelgood music. The sound is good, it's catchy and my ears are comfortable with it, but the tone of it is what draws me away completely.
I bet it makes me sound really condescending, but it's just that uplifting spirit it has to it. It kind of revolts me because it feels like I'm listening to the theme song of some random sitcom that's trying way too hard to get me in a good mood. It can sound as good and catchy as it wants, but it's still going to annoy me because I feel like it's pushing something in my face.
Not the lyrics or anything, for all the attention I paid they could be the opposite of uplifting, but everything besides that gives me that feel. The way that piano is being hit, I guess. Which I can't really elaborate on because I don't know any music terms, but I'm sure you get what I mean.
So I should be able to enjoy it, but I can't because it makes me think "grrrr these fucking americans are trying to lift my spirits up". Is that a bad thing? Probably is. But it's what it is.
I used to be able to but can't really say much about music people send me now, sorry.
Oh, and it also made me realize that I really don't know many 80s music. Ones that everybody hasn't already listened to a million times because of them appearing in a game or movie, that is. Too bad I'm way too lazy to go explore.
