I know their best intentions are to build a positive identity around their shared heritage but neopagans are basically starting from scratch, trying to remake the creation myths that ancient pagans tied into their bloodlines and history. That's really the problem with modern pagans: they don't have an idea on how to worship their ancestors or even what gods to believe in. If they want to be a part of something separate from the decaying sects of Christianity they'll have to create it themselves, rather than grasping at the straws of the past for guidance
