>>16631572Christians are not prideful or ignorant enough to think that they'll go to heaven because they "repented of their sins and have good works"
but if you talk to unsaved churchgoers that believe in works based salvations, they'll say something like "i'm going to heaven because..."
1. "i repented of my sins"
2. "i gave my life to jesus"
3. "i got water baptized"
4. "i got water baptized as an infant"
5. "i made jesus the lord of my life and keep the commandments"
6. "i have good works"
7. "i'm a good person"
8. "i have good works as evidence of my salvation"
9. "i did the sacraments"
10. etc
notice how in those numbered cases mentioned above, their focal point of salvation in in themselves and not in Jesus Christ? actually saved Christians believe that they're going to heaven because Jesus died for their sins, was buried, and rose again. they're trusting Christ alone as their saviour, and they're not trusting themselves as their own saviours.
if you talk to fake Christians and ask why they're going to heaven, it becomes apparent that they believe in false gospels (usually some kind of works based salvation). human works/efforts are absolutely useless when it comes to saving us from hell. salvation is by faith only without human works/efforts. if you don't believe that, you're not a Christian.
