>>20480785The alternatives pay much more, I make barely above minimum wage ($14.50 in AZ) at the moment and in my area experience technicians average only about 36k annually. In comparison an entry-level IT position starts at $18.50 an hour, requires no previous training or certifications, and offers benefits which my current employer does not. Mind you I live out in BFE so job opportunities are more limited here than in a city like Tucson or Phoenix.
