I have always found it odd how white supremacists have described Rhodesia as being a good example of white supremacy, despite the fact the country itself didn’t consider itself an ethno-state.
Blacks living in the country had the highest quality of life compared to any other country in Africa at the time. Blacks also made up the majority of the security forces, making up 60% of their manpower. There was some racism in Rhodesia, don’t me wrong, especially when it came to regiments in the Army. Blacks weren’t permitted to join the Rhodesian Light Infantry until near the end of the Bush War.
Even though racism existed in Rhodesia, as it does everywhere else, it was small in comparison to South Africa under the Apartheid regime.
If white supremacists really consider themselves as such, why don’t they call out Rhodesia for not adhering to their racist beliefs?
