Was thinking hard on this yesterday. Circumcision is sort of a willful limitation, kind of like limited color palette in painting, or shooting a film using ONLY 8mm. It brings about something. The idea is that one willfully limits the sexual expression of the flesh of the male. Subjecting a baby, which is probably a human in its purest state and most geared to learn about its environment, to this sort of pain, especially very early in life, is both genius and psychotic. This gears the human development towards the other aspects instead of the flesh.
