Namefigging devalues it because their only purposes are to be able to identify themselves as the OP or creator of something (for example certain developers of software on /g/), or for attention-fagging. It puts us on the same level as any other internet forum as posters are only competing for a better reputation under their name, not for creating high quality posts to make 4chan better as a whole.
