Maaike was completely caught off guard by Ash's tone, causing her to stay quiet and blink a few times.
>"So...You haven't called me in to tell me that I'm fired, to pack up my bags and leave?"
Maaike was actually surprised by that, shifting in her seat uncomfortably, she wasn't used to coached not yelling at her for not pulling out a win, threatening to kick her out of the team, or federation in this case.
>"But...I didn't even win the match, sure I got one elimination, but I got easily choked out by Lillith. Gods that woman is strong.
>"But on the upside, I did actually manage to hit someone with a move that people have started to call...The Yeetplex?"
Maaike scratched the back of her head, furrowing her brow some more, still clearly uncomfortable in the office, even if the threat of firing didn't hang over her head anymore.
>"Y-yes coach. I have been working on my fundamentals some more, bumping barely hurts anymore. Less taunting, more focus on getting my moves in. It's still a bit of a challenge anticipating on what my opponent, or opponents will do, as well working on running the ropes a bit faster. All things you wrote down in the training schedule. On top of that I've also been keeping up with my cardio by trying some breathing exercises during long runs."
Maaike rambled off what she had been doing, pushing herself up to her limits and perhaps even beyond to what was healthy to train in a day.
>"I just hope it's enough."
