The problem with weight loss is the subject attracts the worst mental illnesses: narcissism, neurotics, autists. Plus men in general operate by ego investment into mastery of knowledge and there’s plenty of assholes who like to believe they know something.
Here’s the thing about weight loss. Will isn’t enough. Will derives from emotions, and emotions are governed by hormones. Nobody can simply not eat at all. Starving yourself creates hunger hormones and slows metabolism and usually backfires.
Here’s how to lose weight
1) Intermittent fast aggressively. Try to have 1-2 day periods of near total fasting regularly. You will get very hungry but not enough to starve.
2) do the shitty, but not terrible 55 minute cardio work out as regularly as you fast
3) you can eat 500-1000 calories if needed in one meal to end a fast period
4) “counting” calories precisely isn’t necessary, but measuring them to about 300 +/- your daily amount on regular days is essential to prevent over eating. Many people do eat more calories than they believe.
That’s it. Fasting is key to deal with hunger hormones. Exercise is necessary but don’t be neurotic about it.
Just “count” calories to make sure you’re not overeating.
It also helps to learn basic cooking, just a couple simple meals at a time.
