"Reason" is what you should be looking for. You should be asking him to justify his (insert your opinion) argument, as opposed to asking him to "prove" his argument. "Proving" an "argument" is literally impossible. You two must apply reason to determine who's "right" and who's "wrong." More often than not, there is a kernel of truth in both of your world view, even if his is 5% to your chad 95%.
Otherwise this is a school yard tier argument. A "You're a poopy head!", "No! You're a poopy head! MY dad said to" argument and I am getting second hand embarrassment.
