1. Community colleges should offer bachelor degrees.
CC = about $43 a unit.
How much does university cost me?
500 PER UNIT!! One class = 1500.That's retarded. What the hell is with the jump in price??
>inb4 quality
Quality my ass. My acct teachers at the CC I went to had CPAs. One was making I think they said 120 or 150k a yr.
CC =/= retarded instructors!!!
2. Universities should at LEAST offer an associates degree when you are half way done. Why? Think about it this way. I know a guy who's sister was doing environmental engineering. 3 yrs done but got mega depressed and discouraged and so she stopped.
Now think about it..
Who will get payed more? The person with an associates degree (say the easiest one possible) or the person who did the 3 yrs of ENGINEERING but has no degree to show for it?
That's right. The associates.
Is that fair? Hell no. The person who studied harder deserves more. At the very least, some sort of degree that demonstrates they have completed a good portion of the program and the degree should also show how many units they have taken.
3. GET RID OF GENERAL ED CLASSES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.
STOP forcing people to waste their TIME and MONEY on classes they don't care about or need.
"Well rounded" = subjective
It also slows graduation rates (impacted classes + causes more stress when coupled with major classes + money issues cause students to take a break + more likely to burn people out + 1st to 12th grade already covered more than enough GE classes, etc.).
...
Inefficient school system (debt + emphasis to classes that don't even make people employable i.e. gain hard skills) and terrible job market (high underemployement)
Also..
4. Have accelerated classes
I have taken 26 units at once. Yes, 26. I feel with about 5-6 weeks, I would have been able to have performed the same.
I have taken 9 units in the winter/5 weeks.
10 in the summer. Basically another 5 or 6 weeks.
It should be like that throughout the whole YEAR.
