I'm a Kalmyk, and we had to genocide Nogai Horde to be admitted into the Russian tsardom. I'm not proud of the genocide, but they had it coming, becuase they would keep raiding the lands of what is now Ukraine and sell the Ukrainians ancestors into Ottoman slavery, so the tsar of Russia had to help these Chstistians and he basically struck a deal with us - we'll keep the Nogai lands if we find some final solution to the Nogai question.
