Zero Two and Hiro literally sacrificed themselves, gave the big bad a giant boo-boo (but didn't stop or kill him) and everybody lived happily ever after even though the villain's literally completely fine, then thousands of years later when mankind is super advanced, Hiro and 02 reincarnate as children and the text "The story continues" appears, implying season 2.
What a train wreck.
At least Planet With is starting out great.
