Hi SDA anons. As someone who grew up SDA and still hangs out with some of them, I wanted to relate a story I heard recenty from another former SDA about why he doesn't want to be involved in it even though he still believes in God.
My friend, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador who came here as a child after the civil war, recently told me some things about what happened there. The government was backed by global Capitalism, and the underclass, mostly Catholic, sided with the Communists. As a result, the government cracked down on Christians, including SDAs. The "Christians" however hated SDAs too because they were Protestant. So they became refugees to stay alive.
Now his old father and mother are worried about how Catholics and Communism have followed them to America. Churches are closed by the government for the lockdown, and mass immigration is flooding their CA town with aggressive Catholics who are on that Viva-La-Reconquista trip.
I don't have a point here, I just wanted to relate a story about why it's hard to remain a part of the SDA church in these times.
