>Almori - Wizards of Winter
>A city state founded near the upper reaches of the mountain it got its name, Almori was until recently only notable for the fact that its positioning was poorly planned and that made it ill-suited for annexation by Lomre, but also for trade for all but the most ambitious of caravans, who almost universally came back disappointed, but in recent years has seemingly made a geological breakthrough as men clad in blue with wild facial hair have come down to trade with the lower countries rare gems of philosophite, a material otherwise only found in the far reaches of the north and east. Jealously guarding their find behind closed gates on walls camouflaged with snow, Almori has been called the White City and while many traders come from the mountain to bargain on their own terms, the treacherous journey there for those not native has ensured only determined travelers take the risk traveling.
>Though little is known of their culture or religious practices beyond what they feel the need to reveal, it is known that Almori worships not the pantheon of gods common to the region and the Empire, but a curious set of deities that seem to correspond with those found worshiped by the clans of Noridvir region. Their caravans and traders are accompanied by many hydromancers whom are versed in the manipulation of ice and cold, and it is presumed that they are adept in the art of magic given their access to philosophite. Rumors say that illusions are used to obscure the true state of the city beyond its gates, and that betraying its appearance as a snow-covered fort behind the walls of Almori lay a magocracy metropolis that rivals Lomre and Trochain in splendor, the walls not chiseled but commanded into place through powerful sorcery. It is said that even the farmers of Almori know basic magical techniques.
>Rarely fighting due to the natural defense the mountain, when required they prefer to hire mercenaries from the lower nations in their name.
