We have no idea how planets or moons are formed. We really have a long ways to go to understand that. And that entails human exploration of these places, that entails getting our asses out there into the dark and doing some science.. cause the way planetary transfer windows work, if you go to another planet's sphere of influence you're gonna be there awhile and you might as well set up camp or whatever.
