>>18698240In one of the many kitchens in the Divine Mansion Colby leans on the kitchen counter as Amy attempts to prepare breakfast. There's a little too much oil in the flying pan, she'd put the toast on way too early and the way she cracked eggs made Colby wince but despite all the mistakes it was clearly a meal made with love rather than culinary prowess.
>"I know this probably isn't how you do it back home Colb but when I was travelling with nothing but the clothes on my back, a pop-up tent, a cooking stove and a cast iron frying pan this is how I used to treat myself to a hot meal. No food poisoning! Except for that one time."Amy lays several strips of bacon on the pan each hissing then sizzling nicely. She pokes at them with a spatula and gazes out the window.
>"I'm really proud of you Colbetta. Considering everything you've been through you went out there alone and confronted your demons head-on. Not only did you fight bravely but you won fair and square and nobody can ever take that away from you. I'm so in awe of you right now."Snapping back to reality Amy flips the cooked bacon onto a plate then dumps four eggs into the frying pan.
>"How do you like your eggs?"Receiving no response Amy looks up and sees Colby smirking back at her.
>"Oh grow up."Amy playfully raps the back of Colby's hand with a wooden spoon, Colby grabs the utensil and drops it down the front of her dress.
>"I got your spoon.">"I'm cooking a fry-up Colby, I don't NEED a spoon... oh wait I DO need that, give it back!"Turning her attention back to the food the egg decision has already resolved itself. They're fried. Amy hastily places the portions on two plates and slides one of them across the counter. The presentation is lousy and for a moment Amy feels guilty for having served such an uninspiring meal to the woman she loves after the greatest victory of her career.
>"Hey, um, it's okay if you don't want to eat that, we can go out for breakfast instead."
