>>20379571An eerie silence falls over the room as Cassie stares at her cousin, before wordlessly walking over to the suitcase and grabbing the gun. “You weren’t meant to see that,” she says.
“Look, I’m sure you’ve got your reasons for having it,” Lexi says quickly. “No big deal at all. Really. I won’t tell anyone, ok? I’ve seen all sorts at my mum’s place, so whatever your reasons, being discreet about things that are none of my business is nothing new to me.”
Lexi’s heart begins to quicken as Cassie stares back at her in silence, gun in hand. Lexi’s mind begins to race. In the heat of the moment when she noticed the gun, discovering it ‘accidentally’ seemed like a clever way to put Cassie into a position where she’d have to trust her with the truth about her life of crime. And from there, Lexi imagined working her way deeper into Cassie’s inner circle.
But now? Now Lexi can’t escape the reality that this woman might just kill her instead. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Why couldn’t she have just been patient like she had resolved to be from the start?
But then the strangest thing happens, and a smile appears on Cassie’s face. “You’re a funny girl.”
Lexi’s eyes widen. “W-what?” She swallows hard and backs away as Cassie stomps toward her, until she finds herself with her back against a wall and Cassie’s considerable bosom pressing against her own ample endowment.
“You think you’d have seen that gun if I didn’t want you to?” Cassie sneers. “Or that I didn’t notice you eyeing it, or your obviously fake fear and surprise when you opened the case?”
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, I didn-”
Cassie presses a finger to Lexi’s lips. “You don’t need to say anything else.”
