i have a theory for this, bc i've seen some ppl saying this
so a couple of days ago there was a thread about a kid who became 18 recently, and ppl started posting their age. turns out there are a fuck ton of young ppl here
what im guessing is that when 4chan was in an early state the users used to be around this age 16/7-2/3something so it has that kind of light theme and actual banter without being too serious.
