>>13428823Right wingers are constantly trying to politicize science and education, and the result is that you end up with scholars attempting to do "research" that relies on ill defined notions like "race", "gender", etc. It's a complete waste of time, and these people are only fooling themselves and their student, and wasting taxpayer money if they are going to be conducting a scientific study on "race". It's like trying to scientifically study the concept of "yummy" or the concept of "good". These are everyday concepts that have no connection with rigorous empirical science. In nature, this is no clear distinction between the categories (created by humans) of "male" and "female", or "white" and "black".
The only people pushing this stuff are right wing ideologues who want to use a facade of "science" in order to make their racist beliefs more palatable to the general public. It's disgusting. It's politicizing science. But it's also what we've come to expect from the right wing.
