That doesn't mean I have to get emotionally invested in society though, that's a choice. Taxes are a fact of life, and needlessly stressing yourself out on issues that you have no control over won't make those taxes any smaller.
You're voluntarily worsening your own quality of life by seeking information that only makes you angry over something you can't control. Even if it did have any impact on your life, which it probably won't, knowing about it wouldn't change a thing.
