This is why even the earliest of societies enforced monogamy because it was a way to maintain an average genetic fitness rather then a decreasing one with time. Secondly it encourages males even at the lowest level to contribute to society and be productive IE if hyper intelligent males who lack social skills have still something to gain from society IE relationship kids they are less likely to turn on it and completely destroy rebel etc. As well these "5%" males will inevitably make the rest of the males much angrier and result in a constant state of conflict for women which would further lead to societal decay and destruction of it. These are just a few of the reasons but theirs many more monogamy is at the core of civilization and society.
