>>20974050I speak from experience. I bought beaters for $2k each. Went through FIVE cars in TEN years. I had to repair those fuckers every 2 to 6 months, and pay for towing when they broke down, and fix a WHOLE LOTTA SHIT. Here's a math breakdown.
10 years:
$2k per car, every 2 years. $10k
Repairs are 2 to 6 months, $200 to $600 sometimes 1k.Avg repair costs over 10 years is $16k
More fluid / inefficient fuel was about $500 over 10 years from a new car.
Granted, I lived TWO miles from work, and ONLY went to and from work and not much else. The avg American drives 15k miles per year. In the last... 9 years I've driven 25k miles as a non-wagie. So if we add 9360 miles from being a wagie that'd be 3,817 avg miles per year.
So driving a BEATER car, I must have blown 26k on repairs and replacements, and NONE of those cars survived. The LAST beater I had as a NON WAGIE which I NEVER FUCKING DROVE blue book value dropped to $300. It sat and ROT in an apartment parking lot for a full year without being driven. So repairs for that are tires + battery then some random check engine light fucked it up so that's another $300 to repair THEN THE FUCKING WINDOW SUNK INTO THE DOOR and that's $300 more bucks. At that point I just sold it to the spic nigger that worked at the auto shop and me being a retard didn't remove the plates so that fucker drove it ALL OVER TOLL ROADS which I fought and won after 3 months of back and forth shit.
Or I coulda just spent... $20 on a BRAND NEW CAR, which is what my GIRLFRIEND did. In NINE YEARS TIME we have NEVER had to repair it. Only replace tires ONCE, (twice?), and the car has less than 25k miles, and can be re-sold back for... 17k. It has minor exterior damage cause local niggers pulled off the lining above the doors.
So that means in NINE YEARS I lost... $3k LMAO get fucked. Yeah everyone says "Drive a beater" but that's the wrong play and if I got isekai'd or groundhog day'd back I'd fucking LEASE A NEW CAR and pay on it.
